The world watched in terror as the unthinkable happened, changing our worlds forever. This is dedicated to the memory of the victims and for all the survivors left behind

Dear Readers,

The world is reeling from the attacks on the United States, which started just before 9:00am New York time. The victims include individuals from all walks of lives, from those that worked in the structures that were hit and those on the planes that would perish when the highjackers determined that their cause was greater than the lives of those on the planes.

Healing is going to be very important in this time of need for all Americans and other nations who mourn the loss of lives resulting from the terrorist attacks.

Part of the healing process can be aided by people turning to their faith with prayers for an outcome. I wrote this prayer for a fellow writer who was going through anxiety while she awaited the fate of her friends.

Dear God:

Please help to send a speedy conclusion to the travesty happening in America. Bring comfort for those who are inconsolable, bring peace for those who are unable to grieve, bring hope for those who have no hope and bring forgiveness to all the family members and friends of the deceased. Help them to know that their loved ones that have died do not remember any words expressed in anger.

Help us to remember the good in people when all we see right now is the evil that people can do. Allow us to gather together to share our strength and to help those who can't help but succumb to the sadness and grief. Let us remember everyday, that one-day we will be able to separate ourselves from the feelings of the moment.

Send flocks of angels to comfort those who lie afraid in piles of rubbish and for those who fear for the lives of friends and families. Allow news to come with the speed and yet delicateness to alleviate families' suffering.

God, please protect the innocent people and help them safely to the arms of their loved ones or deliver them safely home into your arms.
