Energy balances have long been
a part of healing and were used in many ancient societies. For reasons
unbeknownst to our current society, these practices have become uncommon,
or at least not openly discussed.
Energy healing has become part
of what is known as the New Age movement, but in truth most of the items
placed within this category are old world customs that are publicly
resurfacing.
Perhaps one of the most important
systems to understand is the energy system known as Chakras. There are
seven charkas; each representing an energy centre and each is associated
with its own colour.
Energy, by its very nature, is
meant to flow. When energy blockages occur, the result can be health
problems. If you think of it in terms of a lamp with a crimped electric
cord, you will get a clearer understanding of energy blockages. When
the cord is allowed to be straight, relaxed and in a natural position,
energy flows freely thus powering the lamp. When we crimp the cord of
the lamp, the energy does not flow as well to the lamp. Depending on
how severe the crimp is, the lamp may or may not continue to function.
Human energy systems operate on
the same principle. Scientifically, all matter is made of energy and
therefore the concepts of energy blockages are part of the scientific
community.
There are many different versions
of Chakras, based on different groups that utilised the systems throughout
history. Here I have presented the listing by Chakra number and colour
so that you can have an overview of what the energy system looks like.
This is the system outlined by Dr. Caroline Myss.
