by Joseph Pilates, which took the Eastern and Western philosophies of
conditioning of body and mind.
Core stabilisation is at the centre
of Pilates. Abdominal muscles, lower back and buttocks form the core
of the body. Without strength and stability in these areas, the rest
of the body cannot function properly.
